My good friend Jackie (*no relation to Joan)

This post has been a long time coming. It has been on the back burner for a while (mainly as I have been waiting for a picture from a friend but it has yet to arrive... he knows what I am talking about). Anyway, during my fun-filled summer, I spent occasional stints in my hometown of Midleton, Co. Cork, Ireland. If you know me, you will know I am NOT a massive fan of this little town. I have been mildly homesick for homecomforts, like family and friends, here in London, but if I could move a group them to London, this niggling feeling would be gone.
Midleton and I.. We don't really have anything in common. Except for Jackie Browne's Vintage Homeware and my awesome family.
Jackie is an absolute Legend. Hailing from Whitechapel (my new haunt) she tells incredible stories. But that is not the point of this post. The point is, if some day you drive through Midleton, stop on the Main Street and check out her shop.

I found vintage Prada there. Odhran got an amazing blue velvet blazer there. I want to dress my house with her furniture. I spent afternoons working with Jackie (ie talking men, vintage clothes, men, London).

I know some of our readers may never get the opportunity to see this shop, but I had to share it. And if our Irish readers do pass through Midleton, go in, tell her Fiona recommended the shop to you.

Peace, fi xx

In my defence, my camera broke, making taking pictures of said blazer rather more difficult.

you never know where the next trip will take you, but for now it looks like I'm with the unlucky ones who want get to see this shop any time soon. It seems very special though, filled with personal taste, warmth and true gems, something I miss terribly inside highstreet stores. nice post!

went in on friday enquiring after some amazing tea cups, which were as usual 1920's originals and pretty attractive, when she said 'oh you like records, you might like this', cue amazing polished beech radiograph, to which jackie said i could just have as she cant get it to work. in a move so stupid its likes have probably not been seen since those cups were first made, i said 'can i pick it up tommorow', on my return someone had offered her 30 for it and it was gone. it was amazing. although she did give me another record player that was knocking baout in there as shes extremely nice.

and in other news i though you might like the fact than when in london last week (it was pretty a pretty hectic trip) i met julian barratt.that is all.

The shop looks so cute! There used to be a shop like that in Birmingham called Jeans but it closed up a while ago. Boo.

I love cozy shops like this. This was a great review. Wish you had more pictures because I don't think I'll have a chance to visit in the near future...

This place looks incredible! I bet I could spend hours just scouring the inventory and I love the fact it looks so homey. That vintage pram and the furnishings are such a great touch!
